In Case You Missed It: Chad Ocho Cinco’s 1.5 Sec Bull Ride

Posted By: The NFL Chick on May, 16 2011

If you partied hard this weekend, you may have missed Bengals WR Chad Ocho Cinco’s bull riding debut. And if you did get to watch it live, if you blinked hard or sneezed you probably missed it as well.

Chad only lasted 1.5 seconds on the bull. And I use the term “lasted” extremely light. Chad had no chance in hell.. I don’t think I’ve seen a funnier video this entire offseason/lockout.

One thing is clear though…. The NFL and NFLPA needs to come to some agreement ASAP. If players take Chad’s idea of doing their bucket list items… well…. I don’t want to even fathom that. Just get a deal done.. or else Chad is gonna be in a hospital bed sooner rather than later.

Video: Le’Ron McClain, Torrey Smith Discuss Baltimore For Bama Relief Event

Posted By: The NFL Chick on May, 11 2011

Yesterday I mentioned that Ravens FB Le’Ron McClain was hosting a Baltimore For Bama Relief event at the Carmelo Anthony Youth Development Center in Charm City. The event was to help people in Tuscaloosa, AL who were victims of the recent tornadoes in which over 200 lives were taken. Helping McClain in his relief efforts were former MD wideout and new Raven Torrey Smith, as well as Baltimore native and Bills LB Aaron Maybin.

The event turned out to be a success, as McClain and his NFL friends received enough donations to fill the large truck that they had to send the items down to Alabama. I had a chance to talk with McClain and Smith about reaching out to help as well as other NFL topics.

Ravens Le’Ron McClain To Help ‘Bama Tornado Victims

Posted By: The NFL Chick on May, 10 2011

Ravens FB Le’Ron McClain needs your help. McClain is an Alabama native from the Tuscaloosa area that was devastated by the recent tornadoes, which has seen 236 lives lost in the state of Alabama alone.

McClain along with other famous friends have partnered with 92Q to host the, “Baltimore For Bama Relief” event tonight at the Carmelo Anthony Youth Development Center, 1100 E. Fayette St. Baltimore, MD 21202, this evening from 4-7pm. Items like clothes, shoes, food and water are being asked for. If you’ve been looking for a way to clean your closet, now is a good time. People in Alabama lost everything, so anything you give can be a blessing to someone else.

Shout out to McClain for taking the time to help his state thru such a terrible time. If you’re in the Baltimore area, be sure to donate!

Willis McGahee Teaches Us How To Dougie……

Posted By: The NFL Chick on May, 06 2011

And how to do the Carlton and the Big Man Dance…….Ravens RB Willis McGahee has been a singer, an advocate for animal rights and now a dance instructor.

Check out this video in which McGahee teaches Bernie the latest dances. Willis sure does dress the part, he looks like Carlton’s extra with his tight attire.

In the past, McGahee has been caught on camera singing Miley Cyrus and has posed naked for PETA for animal rights. Looks like #23 is trying to be the jack of all trades during the NFL lockout. But he’s still a better running back than any of his other “talents” (and I used that term loosely).

In Case You Missed It: Rex Ryan On Letterman

Posted By: The NFL Chick on May, 04 2011

Jets head coach Rex Ryan hit the David Letterman Show this week. Ryan talks about the NFL lockout, his new book, “Play Like You Mean It”, why American football is the best  sport in the world and playing the Giants and the Patriots this upcoming season.

Ryan is a great coach and even better person to interview. Sometimes I think he talks a bit too much, but his mouth and attitude is nothing short of perfect for the Big Apple. Hopefully the lockout can be over by the time the season starts so the Jets can play my Ravens with no interruptions!

Pics: NFL Players Attend Rookie Debut “One Team” Celebration

Posted By: The NFL Chick on May, 02 2011

The NFL Players Association hosted their Rookie Debut: “One Team” Celebration at the Cipriani Ballroom in New York City this past weekend. The event was to welcome all of the new players into the NFL, and they did so in excellent fashion.

New NFL guys such as Robert Quinn, Von Miller, Blaine Gabbert and Ryan Kerrigan hit the red carpet. Also seen at the swanky event was NFLPA Executive Director DeMaurice Smith, as were current and former NFL players like Dwayne Bowe, Ray Rice, Brian Mitchell, Samari Rolle to name a few.

DJ D-Nice was on the 1′s and 2′s all night long. Doug E. Fresh started the night with a mix of his old school hits and danced to some current radio chart toppers to get the crowd going. Snoop Dogg then graced the stage with his diverse performance doing hits like “Drop It Like It’s Hot” and “Gin And Juice”. The new NFL players even came onstage with Snoop during his performance.

Myself along with Steelergurl were in attendance and even took a pic in the Rookie Debut photobooth. The pics from the booth were then displayed throughout the screens in the venue.

Patrons were given Rookie Debut commemorative medallions as a souvenir at the end of the night.

The NFLPA definitely knows how to throw a party! Now back to the negotiating table so we can actually have football this season, please and thanks!

Reeta’s NFL Pics Of The Week

Posted By: The NFL Chick on April, 13 2011

Everyone loves an expressive t-shirt. Apparently NFL players do, too. Are they just tees that caught their eye, or are they really subliminal messages???? You be the judge.

Former Redskins RB Clinton Portis wanted to tell us not to worry about his money… He’s STRAIGHT, according to his t-shirt. With the lockout going on and his status as a free agent, I sure hope he’s right. It’s hard out here in these here streets…

Meanwhile Ravens WR continued to throw shade at commissioner Roger Goodell, after calling him “a joke” on a Baltimore radio show last week. He wore his shirt during his trip to ESPN studios in Connecticut. Gotta love his blunt t-shirt!

Roethlisberger Talks Media Attention, Religious Beliefs On Upcoming Wedding

Posted By: The NFL Chick on April, 07 2011

Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger is expected to marry his on-and-off girlfriend of 5+ years Ashley Harlan on July 23rd, exactly one week before the Steelers open up with training camp (if the lockout ends). While Ben’s upcoming nuptials aren’t a big deal to his camp, it’s been getting a lot of attention in the news since the story broke last summer. Big Ben doesn’t understand all of the hoopla over it.

In an interview with Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Ed Bouchette, Ben says he has no idea why it’s front page news:

“I was surprised at how much media attention it was getting — it’s just an engagement,” he said. “I never expected it to be on the front pages of all the papers and websites. There was speculation what our invitations would look like and who is coming! It almost seemed surreal, it was like a movie or something, it was weird.”

Roethlisberger also states that he and Harlan have decided to live apart until marriage to follow their religious beliefs.

Let me get this out real quick…….

For their wedding, the couple has asked guests to not bring gifts, but to donate to his foundation. Roethlisberger also will give gifts he receives to the Ronald McDonald house and Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC. I think that’s a great idea.

I commend Ben for the charitable contributions and I understand his goal to change the opinion of his teammates, coaches, friends and family. As for the general public and fans, it may not be that easy. Ask Michael Vick, who may never lose the “dog killer” image, even after he paid his debt to society. It’s a process. Don’t say you’re shocked at the attention, you know exactly why you’re getting it. It’s because you’re a high profile QB for a very popular team who just a year ago was under investigation for sexual assault Like many people, the past has a tendency to interfere with the present. Roll with the punches, puns and jokes and keep it moving.

Pimp In Lawrence Taylor Case Gets Jail Time

Posted By: The NFL Chick on March, 30 2011

Rasheed Davis, the pimp that solicited the underaged prostitute in the Lawrence Taylor case, pleaded guilty and will likely be sentenced to 7-9 years in prison. According to PFT, Davis has spent most of his adult life in prison, stemming from a manslaughter charge.

Just last week, the former Giants great plead guilty to sexual misconduct and was sentenced to just 6 years probation and has been registered as a sex offender, after admitting he paid a 17-year-old to have sex with him. He also claims the girl told him that she was 19 years old.

So let me get this straight……. Taylor gets 6 years probation for actually having sex with the minor, but the pimp will do 7-9 years in prison?

I don’t know much about the law, but this sounds like LT got off like a fat rat.

After last week’s conviction, Taylor went to Fox News to discuss the new sentence and what happened the night of the events. This is a must see, in case you missed it. This is one of the most candid and possibly ignorant interviews I’ve seen for a while. Maybe the system got this one all wrong, and Taylor should be doing the hard time along with the pimp…..
